The Black: This is something rare, a Serrello brewed with Black Barley, grown on the saline, shallow, drought-prone soils of Tintinara in South Australia's Southeast. These are soils that push the barley hard, and the result is a grain of extraordinary concentration and character. Dark, complex, and deeply expressive. The Black Barley brings roasted depth and a brooding intensity that sets this Serrello apart. At 8.0% ABV, it's bold, structured, and built to age.
Pre Order Item: Thanks for your patience. This product is expected to arrive in July/August 2026. We'll confirm your order once stock is received and dispatch it as quickly as possible.

Information
Fine Ale sits somewhere between the world of great wine and great beer, structured, age-worthy and built for the table rather than the couch. Each Malt Donkey release is brewed from single-origin barley, grown on a specific South Australian farm, then fermented and matured with the same patience you’d expect from a serious cellar wine.
Shipping
All orders containing this release will be dispatched once the ales are ready to leave the cellar within a week of your order.
